- $480M Packing District – The Dr. Phillips Charities’ planned $480 million, 202-acre mixed-use district wants to repurpose 100-year-old buildings — historically used to pack citrus. The entire project, which will take roughly 20 years to complete, will include a tennis court center and a nature park with pedestrian and bike trails that will connect to Orlando’s existing Urban Trail system.

- Orlando, Florida officially named host city for the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games. Taking place from June 5 through June 10 in 2022, more than 4,000 athletes, 10,000 volunteers, 1,500 coaches, and 20,000 families and fans from all 50 states and the District of Columbia will travel across the U.S. to unite and participate in one of the world’s most cherished sporting events – the Special Olympics USA Games.
- Brightline passenger rail moves forward with Orlando expansion – All Aboard Florida plans to use Orlando International Airport’s new Intermodal Terminal Facility as its Orlando train station – offer a new Brightline connection to South Florida.
- The Downtown Arts District and CityArts Factory moves to the historic Rogers-Kiene Building. The building was donated by arts benefactor Ford Kiene earlier this year with the requirement that the Rogers Kiene Building be used for arts purposes for at least 20 years.
