Sharing a News Update From – Holocaust Memorial Resource & Education Center of Florida
This morning was a momentous occasion for the Holocaust Center. Our Past President, Ellen Wise Lang, joined Alan Ginsburg, founder of the Ginsburg Family Foundation, Mayor Buddy Dyer, other dignitaries and community leaders to announce a $10 million gift from the Ginsburg Family Foundation to build our new Holocaust Museum for Hope & Humanity in downtown Orlando.
Our goal is to build the first-ever Holocaust museum centered around the stories of survivors. The partnership we have formed with USC Shoah Foundation, founded by Steven Spielberg, permits us to use their Dimensions in Testimony technology to allow visitors to have real-time conversations with survivors. This transformative gift from the Ginsburg Family Foundation will directly help us realize this vision and create a world-class, one-of-a-kind Holocaust museum and education center here in Orlando.
On a personal note, Alan Ginsburg and Marc McMurrin, CEO of the Ginsburg Family Foundation, have been stalwart supporters of the Center. Alan has been with us every step of the way, always willing to support our educational programming and helping to build a just and caring community free of antisemitism and all forms of prejudice and bigotry.
Alan and Marc saw the potential that a newly imagined, larger museum could have on our ability to reach more people and have a broader impact as a change agent in our local community and beyond.
Today, they provided a transformational gift that will allow us to take meaningful steps towards building a Holocaust Museum for Hope & Humanity that reimagines what Holocaust education can be. We are looking forward to sharing more information, renderings and other notable milestones relating to the new Museum with you as soon as we can. Today is a celebration for all of our supporters, and we are honored to have you as part of our journey and Holocaust Center family.
