ORLANDO, FL – The 2022 Cure Bowl will be played Friday, Dec. 16, at 3 p.m. ET, on ESPN. The annual college football bowl game at Exploria Stadium in Orlando is owned and operated by ESPN Events.
“The Cure Bowl is one of the signature events of our annual Central Florida sports calendar, and we look forward to hosting the eighth edition of the bowl in December,” said Alan Gooch, executive director of the Cure Bowl and CEO of the Orlando Sports Foundation (OSF). “We are honored to continue the mission of bringing teams together to find a cure for cancer through the Cure Bowl and the March2Cure.”
The March 2Cure is the official kickoff event for the annual Cure Bowl. Join college football fans and cancer thrivers on December 16th as we turn Church Street pink for this FREE pregame street fest that ends in a community march to the gates of Exploria Stadium for the kickoff of the 8th Annual Cure Bowl.
Since 2015, the Cure Bowl has provided a platform to raise $3.8 million for cancer research. The Orlando community has benefited from the funds generated at the game, with local researcher Dr. Annette Khaled at the UCF College of Medicine receiving more than $1.2 million of the funds distributed.
The 2022 Cure Bowl will host teams from a combination of the American Athletic Conference, Conference USA, Mid-American Conference, Mountain West Conference, Sun Belt Conference and Army.
Last season, Coastal Carolina defeated Northern Illinois in a thrilling 47-41 game as the Chanticleers used a stop at the goal line as time expired to win the 2021 Cure Bowl.
