The 18th Annual Dancing for Diabetes Show at the Bob Carr Theater – $100,000 Check to the Diabetes Research Institute

The 18th Annual Dancing for Diabetes showcase, held at the Bob Carr Theater on November 10, 2018, drew a record crowd of over 1,500 guests and featured hundreds of Central Florida dancers – using their talents raising funds to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes. During the event, hosted by WFTV Meteorologist Brian Shields, a check for $100,000 was presented to the Diabetes Research Institute – the only national organization solely devoted to developing a biological cure for diabetes.

“When you have diabetes, it impacts every decision you make—from the food you eat, the clothes you wear and how you take care of yourself. Our (DFD) goal is to support local individuals and families who are impacted by type 1 Diabetes and to raise funds to support the Diabetes Research Institute – to find a cure. We are so grateful to the Central Florida community for their ongoing support and are energized about what we will do as a community moving forward!” Dancing for Diabetes Founder, Elizabeth Forrest (shown here)
